Our Implementation ModelThe Ames Middle School Extended Learning Program (ELP) is designed to enhance and support the curriculum and instruction process for highly capable students as well as that of those with undeveloped potential.
The ELP teachers work collaboratively with classroom teachers to provide learning experiences that challenge high ability students through WIN period three- and six-week rotations. We match the needed learning to the learner. Programming will NOT look the same for all children. We consider student readiness, student interest areas, learning styles, and needed supports in developing curriculum and activities. Guided by the MTSS model, groups are organized into three tiers. We also understand that anticipated need can fluctuate, so we review new data as it becomes available throughout the year in an effort to maintain a fluid, responsive approach to ELP inclusion. |
